Individual equine-assisted therapy at ReWilding Therapy blends traditional psychotherapy with experiential, gestalt-based approaches alongside horses, nature, and other farm animals. Horses are deeply attuned to human emotion and nervous system states, offering real-time, non-judgemental feedback that can support emotional regulation, self-awareness, attachment, and meaningful growth.
Sessions may include time at liberty with the herd, grooming, leading, or simply being present in the field. Experiences may be mounted or unmounted depending on your comfort level and therapeutic goals. This work is grounded in relationship, connection, and embodied experience.
This approach may support:
• Anxiety, overwhelm, and stress
• Emotional regulation and self-awareness
• Trauma recovery and attachment repair
• Confidence, boundaries, and self-worth
• Life transitions and identity exploration
Each session is guided by your pace and what feels safe and supportive. Together, we'll honour your story, your nervous system, and your readiness for growth and change.

A safe, engaging, play-based space where children and youth can explore, grow, and heal through connection.
Through equine-assisted and animal-assisted play therapy, children and youth are invited to express, explore, and process their experiences in ways that feel natural, supportive, and developmentally appropriate. The presence of horses often helps children feel more at ease, creating opportunities for emotional expression, confidence building, self-awareness, and connection.
Sessions are experiential and may include:
• Grooming and caring for horses
• Creative and play-based activities
• Mounted and unmounted experiences
• TraumaPlay® and playroom exploration
• Movement and sensory-based experiences
• Building trust, boundaries, and communication skills
This approach may support children and youth navigating:
• Anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, or behavioural concerns
• Trauma and attachment disruptions
• Social difficulties, confidence, or self-esteem challenges
• Grief, life transitions, and family changes
Caregiver collaboration is an important part of the process. Together, we work to support your child's growth, well-being, and success both on and off the farm.
